Volunteer Opportunities

Help build strong families! You may not know the good you can do, but we do! Volunteer opportunities abound at Family Service. We welcome you!

Make a Difference in a Day

Do you enjoy spending time with the elderly but feel like you don't have a lot of time to give? Coordinate a one-day individual or group volunteer project with the seniors at one of our Time Out Adult Care Centers in Madison, Morris Plains or Succasunna. Share a talent or hobby or work on a craft with the seniors. See what a difference a day can make! To volunteer at one of the Time Out Centers contact Ellen Brody in Madison at (973) 822-8006, Nancy Arluna in Morris Plains at (973) 326-7288 or Marianne Terry in Succasunna at (973) 598-8469.

Friends of the Blind

Do you enjoy getting to know new people? Spend time with a blind or visually impaired person providing support and friendship in order to maximize independence and prevent unnecessary institutionalization. For more information call Dina Glen, (973) 538-5260

Senior Cents

Do you have a keen financial sense or actually enjoy balancing your checkbook? This volunteer opportunity could be for you. This money management and advocacy program for seniors and the disabled enables the older adult to control their finances and remain independent in the community. For more information call Ann Boland, (973) 538-5260.

Branch Out

Family Service's new leadership program for young professionals between the approximate ages of 25-35 years old. Members of Branch Out learn about the agency's key programs and board service and ultimately plan a fundraiser to benefit the program of the group's choice. For more information, contact Janet Horowitz at (973) 538-5260 or by email at jhorowitz@fsmc.org.
