Sharon retired in June, 2006 after spending more than 30 years in education as a teacher, school counselor, Director of Guidance, Assistant Principal, District Director of Student Personnel Services and finally, as Principal of Kinnelon High School. In 2004 she was named New Jersey State Principal of the Year.

Sharon is a licensed professional counselor and, an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Education at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is writing a book about a special needs young woman who redefines the power of the human spirit through the example of her own life. Sharon lives in Denville with her husband, Tony, a retired Assistant Superintendent of Schools and has two married sons, both educators in Morris County. Sharon enjoys spending her time with her grandchildren.
