Be SMART Kits Family Service has introduced a new toolkit for older adults called 'Be SMART' (Substance Misuse Adult Resources Toolkit). This toolkit provides valuable information for caregivers and older adults on the interactions of medications and alcohol. The information is targeted for individuals and caregivers to work in partnership with physicians so that medications can be used effectively; especially when mixed with other substances such as alcohol. The objective of these kits is to help older adults remain independent and reduce the potential for harmful side effects. For more information contact Marie Palumbo at (973) 538-5260 or by email at mpalumbo@fsmc.org. |
