FSMC Madison Day Care Center

The Madison Day Care Center is a place where children learn by playing, exploring and interacting with one another. Children flourish in an environment where they are encouraged to be creative and use their imagination. Every child is unique and gifted with their own special personalities, interests, abilities and talents. It is important to celebrate our children's cultural diversity for we are all a part of this wonderful world.

Please see the Madison Day Care Center webpage for more information and to download a brochure. You can contact the Director, Teresa Macaluso, at tmacaluso@fsmc.org  or by phone at (973)-377-6941.

Play Connections

Play Connections is a special project of STEP-by-step where Morristown businesses donate remaindered or discarded items to be used for imaginative unstructured play in child care centers. Child care staff are trained on the importance of unstructured play for children's growth socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Materials are kept out of landfills for a longer period of time promoting the "greening of Morristown." For more information, contact Laura Gorin at (973) 538-5260 ext. 216 or by email at lgorin@fsmc.org.

Healing Hands

This innovative program was originally created, in conjunction with the organization Jumpstart, to support children who lost a parent or close relative on September 11th.  Now, the program is open to all children that have suffered from traumatic loss and offers a series of art workshops to help children cope and heal. During the program, children create "comfort crafts," such as cozy pillows, beaded nightlights and bejeweled treasure boxes. Healing Hands offers a family approach by inviting parents/guardians to attend the workshops with their children. For more information, contact Sylvia Lippe, Director of Behavioral Health Services at (973) 538-5260 ext. 212 or slippe@fsmc.org.
