Child and Adolescent Services

•   The STEP-by-Step Program
This nationally recognized program works with the youngest members of society, infants to five year olds. The STEP-by-Step Team works with area childcare centers by offering on-site and in-home social work services for children and their families and on-site education and coaching for teachers and assistants at the Centers.

•   The Families and Schools Together Program (F.A.S.T.)
The FAST Program is directed to school-age children in order to prevent substance abuse, juvenile delinquency and school failure. The program creates a partnership between parents and educators and models or enhances family quality time. Early Childhood FAST maintains these same goals but focuses on children and parents in the childcare centers.

•   Healing Hands
This innovative program was originally created, in conjunction with the organization Jumpstart, to support children who lost a parent or close relative on September 11th . Now, the program is open to all children that have suffered from traumatic loss and offers a series of art workshops to help children cope and heal. During the program, children create "comfort crafts," such as cozy pillows, beaded nightlights and bejeweled treasure boxes. Healing Hands offers a family approach by inviting parents/guardians to attend the workshops with their children.

•   RockForce
The innovative RockForce program was created in partnership with the arts organization Jumpstart. RockForce uses the strength and energy of the arts to empower teens who have lost a loved one or who have faced another traumatic loss. More specifically, RockForce helps Morris County teens, ages 13-16, begin the healing process in a safe place through a variety of expressive arts. While RockForce focuses on the arts, whether it be African drumming and dance or sculpture, trained counselors will be available to talk to teens.

•  Bienvenido
The Bienvenido program was created to address the adjustment and mental health needs of immigrant teenagers in Morristown High School. A bilingual/bicultural social worker meets with teenagers and their families to help them through an often difficult adjustment period.
