Family Service of Morris County (FSMC) is a private, non-profit organization serving Morris County for 199 years with a mission of strengthening the community by empowering individuals and families to meet and overcome life's challenges. Within our mission, we concentrate on prevention and early intervention in four strategic areas to make an impact on our communities by:

Giving children the best start in life with programs that focus on improved social and emotional well being, parenting, early childhood education, grief counseling, family support and resources;
Keeping older adults independent and in their homes through social day centers, caregiver respite, in-home case-management, financial literacy and programs for the blind and visually impaired;
Building and maintaining healthy families by helping them cope with everyday challenges of stress, anxiety, parenting concerns, marital issues, and the unique concerns of Military families;
Preventing substance abuse in families and communities through education.

FSMC offers over 20 innovative programs that provide counseling, education, advocacy and support to over 7,000 children, families and seniors in the community.

Older Americans

FSMC Celebrates Older
Americans Month in May!

May is a time to honor and recognize older Americans for the contributions they make to our families, communities and society. This year’s Older Americans Month theme is “Never Too Old to Play”, to encourage older Americans to stay engaged, active and involved in their own lives and in their communities. Do you know of a senior who could benefit from participating in an affordable social day care program offering a safe, stimulating environment? FSMC offers three Adult Day Centers in Morris Plains, Madison and Succasunna. Run by highly trained staff, our centers offer social and recreational activities in a homelike environment. The day includes a nutritious lunch and snacks, exercise, yoga and movement classes, mentally stimulating games and programs, and support for caregivers. Click here to find out more about our Centers.

In particular, Barbara was interested in helping the blind, as she always appreciated the people who helped her mother who was blind, and wanted to pay it forward. Read More...
